Was looking at buying a watch, first decent one anyway, a few months ago. Tried the normal propilot with the brown strap on which was quite nice, however I decided to put the money else where so didn't buy it.
I do really like this one, and I normally say if you like it buy it. Soo, ORIS watches, decent enough to spend £1500-2000 on?

I have an Oris TT1 and as such have a natural soft spot for Oris. No complaints here, a little left field from the usual brands but in my experience quality watches with a good heritage.

I like that. Looks simple and uncluttered so nothing "busy" on your wrist. I'd consider it if I was looking for a new watch from a different manufacturer thumbup

You might try chatting to Dom Hackett on here as he may be able to get you one under list wink

I have a couple, both well made and stood up to plenty of use over the past 8-10 years.

I really like the pro-pilot watch range, but a little large for my wrist. My next purchase will be one of the recently released Chronoris models I think.

I like the relative rarity of Oris, and the fact that you can wear one in a corporate environment without bumping into someone else wearing one every 5 minutes, which can't be said of Omega, Tag, Rolex etc. The knock on effect is that it can be difficult to find shops stocking Oris to have a look at them.

They perhaps don't maintain value as well as some other more expensive brands but they have less to lose as starting from a lower point. However, looking at Chrono24, both of mine would sell for more than I paid for them 10 years ago

A colleague several years ago wore an Oris. First one I’d seen - always had a soft spot as a result and I do foresee one on my wrist in the future....

I do like that one - pretty bold - but not sure I’d want something 45mm.

OP - if you like it, go for it..!

Bought an Aquis last year, the quality is fantastic at 1.2k (more now). Fab brand ORIS some people moan about the movement but its all good for me.

Highly recommend.

I do like that one too. Calibre 144? Shame it's way over budget.

Calibre 111 manual wind, really nice watch, but 4k is a bit rich.

Dunno why I put 144, it was the 114 I was thinking of. Now that is a nice watch.

114 has the GMT function IIRC? Another nice one as you say.

Really like that Rega edition; especially as Oris make their watches a few kilometres away from where I live, plus the whole family are members of Rega.
45mm is a bit too large for my puny wrists though. Will go and check it out in my local Oris store.

Who knows, could be one for the "frivolous purchases, stuff you don't need" thread in the Lounge....
