So bought a tisell 'sub' hulk to see how I'd get on with a green faced watch. This thing cost £270 direct from tisell. The quality is outstanding....Rolex who?!

Automatic Diver Watch Green 40 mm has a classic diver design with a one-way rotating green ceramic bezel. The watch is powered by a MIYOTA 9015 movement with 42 hours of power reserve.

I am wearing a Hulk right now...and that looks v similar but not quite as sharply machined on the case or with quite such tight tolerances on the links that join the case to the bracelet (whatever they are called).

From less than six inches it probably looks identical! Good work Tisell ;D

They are called end links and the look better on that Tisell than on my '83 Sea Dweller !

My £50 Alpha "White Gold" Sub is pretty good (although isn't as heavy as the genuine article). The Alpha GMT Master is scarily close, too. The only difference is the angle of the bezel is shallower on the Alpha. Compared it side by side with the Rolex and the owner of said Rolex looked carefully at his watch to check it was the original before putting it back on. biggrin

Looks good but 270 for a homage and a Myota movement is a bit much for me.
Invicta make some great homages, good quality and lower price. No Hulk yet though.

On a budget watch like this is the movement important?? It comes with a 2 year warranty, looks good, feels great and tests whether I really want to spend the money a green Rolex...

Hmm I'm not sure I do now (on this particular model). smile Its a good office beater too.

For that price, it should be a Swiss movement. I would expect to see Miyotas and Seiko movements in £50-£100 watches.

Very very few watches at that price point have mechanical Swiss movements.

Usual price point for a Swiss movement in my experience is about £500 upwards.

Nothing wrong with a Miyota movement. The 9015 is a tough movement with a good rep.

I doubt adding an ETA movement would mean any more sales. Plus they are thicker so would compromise the case spec.

I just did a quick Google on these watches and it looks like they use the good spec Miyota movement which is v accurate but in my experience, if Citizen watches are any reference point, a bit noisy.

If the movement is not important, why not get a quartz?

Anyway, that was not my point. I'll phrase it differently: I'd like to see the difference in quality with the Invicta offerings, which can be found at 1/3rd the price.
270 gbp just seems like a hefty price tag for a homage like this.

I have one of their bauhaus ones, bit of a homage to Nomos but central second hand, they're a bit cheaper than the subalikes but pretty good bits of kit.

I have seen the Tisells a lot cheaper to be fair

Gigandet do a Hulk homage with a NH35 for £160 (often less) on Amazon

I had this Tisell 167 from new. I loved the look of it but it wore a bit too big - 40mm of dial nearly! Also the movement was quite coarsely decorated. I ended up selling it for more than the new price having been approached via my YouTube video of it.
