Can anyone tell me anything about this?

I bought it about ten years ago, I believe it's from the 1950s.

Can the PH hive-mind recommend someone who would work on this for me without charging London Rolex prices? The crown has come out for the third of fourth time and I'd like it fixed so I can wear it again but clearly it's not worth spending hundreds on.

Its a Tudor Oyster, in very nice condition. I'm not an expert, could be 50s or 60s. I like your taste in watches.
Rolex made the cases and dials, but the movement will be produced by another company.

If the crown keeps popping out, the threads on the crown tube or the crown itself (or both) are probably knackered. Removing and replacing a crown tube is a little more of a job than a straight service. Ask Rigga or Joe, or use the BHI website to find someone local.

Hmmn. Actually the threads are on the outside of the crown, which means a huge crown tube or a threaded case.

Be extremely reluctant to accept an unsigned or incorrect crown.

Thanks guys, I like it. It originally had a crown with a Rolex 'crown' on it, but the last time I had it looked at the replaced that with a plain one. Still not sure why I let them do that.
