After having numerous rolex's I treated myself to one of these but the luminous is non existent
Shined a bright touch on it and the lume does work for approx 30 mins but that's it.
Is this normal?
Will a service rectify this / repair etc ?
Rather pissed off at the moment, do I have any options?

Black lume is always terrible on any brand of watch, so not really a suprise.
A service will do nothing, as the lume is as expected.

If lume is a deal breaker, always get something with light colors (ie, white/green/yellow)

That said the lume on my AP's isn't spectacular vs my nuclear Blancpains.

ok thanks, just a bit disappointed after having several Rolex watches all with very good illumination on them.
Happy with it apart from that.

Black loom is always pretty shoddy, the lighter dial APs have pretty good lumes.

All of AP’s ROs are fairly pathetic when it comes to luminescence, especially the Divers – it’s best to consider them as primarily for bright light scenarios only.
If you want a sports watch to burn the retinas from your eyes, then it would be chiefly the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver, with the Fifty Fathoms Blancpain following close behind.

Worst "I've got a 27k watch" thread ever.

Have you got lights. Or a phone? No need for lume.
The lounge is over there --------------->

i have a ROC and it hardly ever shines, almost catches me off guard when it does im like WTF is that!

its with AP though of course, thats where it lives, 4th time broken in a few years. they are repairing free of charge which is nice but i would expect better for a 20 grand watch
