What are your thoughts on this baby? My love of space had me falling for this watch at first sight. It’s a lot of money though and big question, would it be a collectable in the future?

I really like it, out of my price range but I'd buy it if I could afford it, doubt it will appreciate in value but may hold it reasonably well

Not particularly to my taste, that one, but I do love Speedmasters especially the space-themed ones, there's about half a dozen of them that I'd absolutely love to own if funds allowed

I quite like it and love the details with the lunar surface. As to becoming collectible who knows - I have yet to figure out what makes one watch collectible and another not.

I saw a pre-release sample a few months ago. It's a bit slimmer than the usual Dark Side of the Moon Speedmasters as it loses the bubble back, and the yellow doesn't "pop" as much as it does in the press photos.

According to the salesman, it's not a limited edition, but it won't have a big production run, so you might have to wait to get one. (I'm taking the last part with a pinch of salt.)

Can't help but think the dial looks like it's been in a house fire!

Quite interested to see how this looks in the flesh when it does arrive. Been advised by my local AD it'll be £7,200 which is quite a chunk of cash over the standard Moonwatch.

From my conversion with the AD, £2,850 is achievable for the standard Hesalite Moonwatch. TBH, I'll probably end up with this than the Apollo 8 which is standard run issue piece.

That way I can divert the extra money I would have to pay to fund the purchase of the Zenith El Primero 21 Defy which a relative of mine can source in Hong Kong for £6,200 - compared to £10,600 in the UK smile
