19th Century Clock Repair
Discussion
Many years ago I acquired 2 antique clocks.
One is a 19th Century gilt metal and champleve' enamelled mantel clock with a coil strike movement, 60cm high. 17 years ago it ran perfectly but the coil strike movement is full of dust and I've lost the key.
The second is a 19th Century boulle marquetry and gilt metal mounted bracket clock which was displayed at the Paris Exhibition of 1851, 70cms high. It has no damage but looks the gilt looks its age. Last used 17 years ago when it ran perfectly, but been kept in a box so its not too dusty.
I’m now interested to getting them back into working order but have no idea where to start.
Does someone on PH have any recommendations for repairers for these type of pieces? Can travel but ideally London or South East.
Thanks

It wont be cheap, as these things need serious intervention normally.
