Can I change the date on my watch without having to wind it round hundreds of times. It's currently telling me it's the 1st.

I think you can do the hour hand only on the Speedmasters.

If it's a version 2, there should be a quick date corrector button at approx 10 o clock on the dial.

There is a little indent thing by the number ten. Is that it?

Yep. That's it.

This should help you - https://youtu.be/vKLENjMphUM

Take note of the fact the hands should not be between 8:30 and 1, when changing the date.

That's a Racing, co-ax version of the 7750 (George light), date change is at 10am, push it in with a pin/biro/tool from the box.
