Recommend me a watch.....
Discussion
Gents, I have a hankering for something with a steel mesh bracelet. I don't like leather/rubber/NATO straps but would like something different to the oyster and jubilee bracelets on my watches - mesh is looking very appealing!
Criterior as follows - budget circa £6000 (but could be way less and I'll buy something else with the change!)
Size around 40mm ideally as I have small wrists and my new Rolex GMT is nearly as big as I'd like to go.
Auto or manual.
No quartz.
The IWC Portofino Chronograph is the only thing I've found but at 41.5mm it might be on the large side? There must be other options?!

You did say way less, right?

First thing I thought of when you said mesh strap, it's 40mm, a very 'pretty' thing, Valjoux 7750 movement (so you can feel / hear it wobbling away at times), looks a little larger than 40mm because of the lack of bezel, but doesn't look big on my relatively girly wrists (about 18cm)
Means you can immediately start another thread with a £5k budget too
EDIT:

Great minds and all that https://www.watchshop.com/mens-junghans-max-bill-c...
Exceeds diameter requirement by 2mm, £2k underbudget. https://www.breitling.com/multimedia/images/config...
But really, just choose a watch and add a mesh bracelet.

I know the brand has some image issues and often thought of as being a bit on the bling side but I've always had a thing for the Breitling Transocean. Not as in your face as other models.

edited to add, might be a bit large on your wrist at 43mm.

Another Brietling the Superocean heritage looks nice. Its a 42mm but (as always) try stuff on.
Sometimes a 35 looks okay (Nomos) as does a 44 (Casio Dura), depending on the lug to lug etc. etc. plus all our wrists are different 'n' that. Thats right Grandma keep sucking those eggs...
Always good to bang your in size requirements and any others into Chrono 24 and see what it coughs up.
I seriously wanted a Sinn 103 until I tried it on looked small and was way too thick. A real shame as I still love it, just wrong for me, still saved me 2.5k (for now!!).
Happy Hunting

That looks fantastic but I'm not sure that my girly wrist can carry off something so large! https://www.goldsmiths.co.uk/Breitling-Transocean-...

Can't see the issue meself.
You will need to find a watch that has properly designed bracelet end tabs that fit between the lugs rather than botched examples people are posting, then.
