I recently bought a Bronze, which came with the leather strap, I was never a fan and planned on using the NATO, but when I bought it I was informed that now the watch comes supplied with only one or the other.

Not the end of the world, I thought, so I asked them to quote me for a ‘khaki’ NATO, can’t be that much... surely...

This evening I got the quote back at £210.80 - which rather had me taken aback, to say the least! I’m not suggesting that it isn’t the correct price (eBay’s results are not too far off that) but I’m not paying such a mad sum for some fabric and a couple of buckles.

So, I appeal to the PH horological masses, please use the image below as inspiration (the strap for which I was quoted) and please send any recommendations my way for an alternative strap to achieve a similar look. Annoyingly the original is 23mm, which appears to be an odd size.

I’ll consider almost anything, but leather doesn’t really appeal to me for this piece - and as a side note, if a fabric strap exists with a clasp, rather than a buckle, extra points will be awarded!

Thanks, in advance!

Having a bronze watch makes it difficult to get the right colour buckle, especially in that odd size. You might be ok with 22 or 24mm. A fabric strap is going to condense 1mm without looking squashed I would have thought.

I quite like this style of fabric strap in khaki.

You could fit a deployant on it, though the closest colour match you are going to find is brushed gold.

That looks pretty good as he has an option for bronze.

Think we have a winner, not the cheapest option, but at roughly a third of the OEM strap, plus some delivery/customs(?) and with a proper bronze buckle, excellent option - much appreciated!

That deployment clasp is a useful link too, so thanks for that - something worth looking into if I get too bored with a conventional strap (although I’ll probably get a cheaper one if I’m going to cut it up!)

Great work, chaps!

Try timefactors range of NATO straps or their nylon on deployant.

I bought my Black Bay Bronze in 2017 when Tudor was still supplying the watch with the khaki NATO and leather strap. The Tudor NATO is nice but wore out pretty quickly (didn’t wear the leather strap much as it was far too chunky).

Queried with Tudor about the green NATO strap and thought £210 for the strap was a pi55 take so went for the Erikas Originals. Mines is a 22mm but you can get other straps in 23mm.

The quality is excellent and the buckle system is ingenious - unlike typical NATO with the extra strap length that you double loop back which I don’t like. It’s so comfortable to wear and looks the part as you can see below:

Perfect photo, shows that the 22 doesn’t look wrong, I can see a bit of the spring bar already where the (beige) tudor NATO I’ve borrowed from my dad has bunched up slightly. Thanks for sharing, how did you find the order process? Is it just a case of supplying measurements and required specs?

ETA: additional question, apologies if this information is given on the website. When measuring my wrist should I hedge my bets with length, as my watches are slightly loose, so obviously the length is a tad longer than my actual wrist size - or is there an amount of adjustability?

The 22mm width does show a little bit of the spring bar, doesn't bother me at all and as you said the standard 23mm NATO does the same bunching up a little.

I cut up a strip of paper and took the measurements of my wrist, be accurate with the size and Erika will cut the strap to your size with enough leftover to adjust to longer and shorter length with the keeper system which works great. It is much better than the standard Tudor NATO with much better adjustability. Erikas do offer a slightly darker green strap with 23mm width if you want the exact fit.

A leather 24 will fit and look fine; have used a couple on mine. Arunas do some nice bronze buckles - the Tudor one is a poor weedy thing (as is the oem leather strap).

Bulang do some specific 23mm ones that are nice but pricey

Just placed my order with Erika’s Originals - a tad pricey, thanks to the Brexit special exchange rate, but still just over a third of the OEM price - chuffed, but I won’t get it until after the new year as she appears to be having the week off... the cheek!

Excited to have the much more simple buckle system, in a matching bronze (didn’t want a cheap steel NATO buckle) and although there will be a gap on the spring bars, it will surely be a large improvement!

Thanks again all for your inputs!
