No doubt to be used in the 50th anniversary Speedmaster.

Anyone want to bung me a few grand they don't need?

Had my fingers crossed for a museum piece for SIHH but probably couldn’t afford one anyway. This is much exciting though; a production replica. Didn’t see that coming. I need it to be 40mm or smaller and under £20k in stainless steel please.

Interesting.

I have a deposit on a 57 speedmaster trilogy but am now concerned they will put this movement in the 57 case.

Any thoughts on what this will do to values?

Can't see it hurting them. It's a very well respected movement.

I had a lovely Speedy with the Sapphire case back, looked great with a similar polished enhanced movement on show with all the jewels etc.

Regretted selling it the date it went, definitely on my wish list again.

A lovely timeless watch, whatever iteration.

Nope, but lovely non-the-less.....

Looking at the Cal321 it reminded me of the polished and enhanced Sapphire Sandwich.

It's almost as if Omega made the Cal 321 isn't it? Even the CEO is at pains to point out: 'We produced the last one in 1968', even though Omega themselves have stated in the past that the movements were designed and made by Lemania, Lemania being at that time in SIHH group to provide the movements for Omega [high end] and Tissot [lower end].

The base calibre is the Lemania CH27 which was also used by AP and Patek, the guy that designed it was a genius [Albert Piguet] - he had a prototype automatic chronograph in 1947 [put to bed as management thought there would be 'no demand'] over 20 years before the 'big three'.

It's a petty point but one that wouldn't have to be made if Omega had been a little less enthusiastic about their revised history...

I wonder if Rolex will replicate the Zenith movement for their Cosmograph historical riff?
