I'm looking for something other than my Turnograph for sports and holidays etc.

Budget of around £400.

It must be waterproof and fairly tame in looks (i.e. nothing blingy).

Has anyone any recommendations? To put you on the right lines, I quite like the Tissot MotoGP watches, but a tad too blingy. Anyone seen the Jaguar watch range? Any thoughts?

I swear by Zelos at that price point.
My Helmsman II was about 400, in bronze, and I love it.
At 42mm it's a sensible size, and wears really well.
I got into and out of a Halios Delphin for around the same, but they seem to be about 500 now.
If you can stretch the budget a little then the Squale 1521 may be in range.

Seiko Turtle - https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collections/seiko-wa...

Seiko Samurai - https://www.jurawatches.co.uk/collections/seiko-wa...

Both are robust, dependable and great for swimming/diving!

These look good too:

Or something a bit different (and possibly a bit of a bargain!)

Or how about the Dan Henry range:

Very impressed with my Dan Henry 1970s Diver:

My travel watch is a cheap used Casio Edifice.

The multiple extra functions seem to come in handy when on holidays, it’s neither too bling nor too dressy, it’s waterproof and comfortable, of no interest to thieves.

I wouldn’t be without it (although it’s not my daily!)

Plus if I damage it (or lose it whilst pissed) on holiday, no great shakes, it doesn’t owe me anything.
