Hi
I picked this up at the weekend from my dad. My Grandfathers watch.
It's a KM Zentra from what I've Googled, a German submariners watch from the 40s.
No Idea how he got it. He was Met police his whole career.
I wound it up and it ticks along nicely..
I don't think I'll wear it its a bit small for my fat wrists, but would like to get it serviced and a nice strap for it.

A very nice looking and interesting watch. Out of curiosity, where you say it ticks along nicely, have you tested its timekeeping at all? I inherited a late '50s / early '60s Longines from my grandfather. Similar to you, I wound it up and off it went. But if i remember correctly it was losing 30+ seconds a day, possibly more. Not a problem as I only wear it on certain family occasions when timekeeping doesn't matter. As much as anything i'd be interested to know how its current timekeeping compares to the day it was bought. So if you get yours serviced i'd be interested in the before / after timekeeping.Hi Snubs.
I only gave it a small wind to see if it still ran, I was worried about damaging it.
It kept good time for the few hours it ran, not sure about gaining or losing seconds.
I really want to get it serviced by someone that knows what they are doing before It gets worn.
Like you its a sentimental piece to me so it'll probably only come out on family occasions.
Any pointers on getting it serviced would be much appreciated.

With regards to servicing, I wouldn't like to say for sure but the two most common answers you find on here are Rigga the mighty, who is on these forums and i have used myself, or Joe at Anglesey Watches http://angleseywatches.co.uk/. Overall though, there are plenty of capable folk around and a bit of Googling around the watch forums should help to clarify. So if it were me i'd be considering whether i'd be happy to appropriately package and post the watch, because if not then obviously you'll want someone fairly local, and also whether they specialise in vintage watches.
For the record, this is my Longines with a 2p for scale:
