Secret Sales Ball watches
Discussion
I bought an Engineer Hydrocarbon GMT through Secret Sales last year after a tip off on this forum. I think they come up for sale around three times a year, I dithered the first time the sale was live then purchased in October.
You have sign up for an account, disable all the email alerts or they will send you 40 messages a day about discounted handbags or whatever. I just checked back on the website weekly until the Ball sale came around again. They usually have a good selection at 50% discount.
A couple of notes. When you order they take payment in full but it can take up to a month for the watch to arrive, so you are essentially giving Secret Sales a 30 day interest free loan for £1k+. I think they bundle the orders and buy from the supplier in bulk once the sale has ended. Shipping is tracked via Hermes, I think mine arrived about a week after the sale ended. Everything legitimate, watch shipped in manufacturer packaging, stickers and tags attached, with a copy of the chronometer certificate and dealer signed warranty card. Ball will extend the warranty to 3 years if you sign up with the watch serial number on their website.
Overall, more hassle than buying from an AD but balance that against the discounts. Very happy with mine but I could imagine any issues would have been a pain to sort out remotely.

Ball watches back on Secret Sales. Not the one I want though
Yup, I kept waiting for a Diver to come up and in the end bought second hand from ebay. Had to wait around 9 months before one came around at anything less than new price on ebay or chrono24.Barchettaman said:
Are Ball watches well thought-of on here? Not a brand I was aware of.
I love mine. Feels like it's hewn from stone (without being massive), has some lovely details and the tritium tubes are a nice radioactive throwback!
