Bulova Moon Watch
Discussion
I've been keen on this watch for a while now and am considering buying one. I know they are not exactly the same as the original (bigger case, different movement, etc) but the history hype appeals to me. At the moment I can't decide between the silver and the black finish. The silver is more true to the original but the black is nice! They're big but I've got 7, 3/4 inch wrists so shouldn't be a problem. And the bigger the better if I'm wearing a space suit!. Anyway, that aside, I was wondering if anyone here has one and would care to tell me what the lume is like and perhaps post a picture. Also, can anyone tell me what the lug width is? Thanks.

I have one in silver (I prefer silver watches).
The lume is nothing special. It's adequate rather than spectacular (but then I'm spoilt with Panerai and Magrette Kara lume).
The lug width is 20mm wide.
I bought a custom GasGasBones strap for it which is much better than the original.

Lovely watch and one of the ones I wear more often from my collection (over 30 watches).
I also wear it on an antique brown leather strap which suits it well.

I have one on a bracelet, bought from Amazon US for under 225ukp if I remember correctly. It's very nice indeed with a wonderful sweep. Depending on your purchase price I would say its worth a place in a collection (I wear mine when I'm meeting new customers instead of my sub Cdate) Lume is ok but nothing special.
Great choice in black, pulls the case in and wears a bit smaller than the silver version, probably closer to a 43mm. Lug width 20mm, lug to lug 52mm. 262khz quartz movement is incredible, easily the most accurate watch I own apart from smart watches or radio controlled stuff. I got the watch for Christmas and it’s gained a single second in the last 3 months. The leather NATO strap you get with the black version is awesome, really comfy to wear and smart enough for work if you are so inclined. As previously stated lume is average but don’t let that put you off, it’s a really solid watch for the money.
It's arrived! Very pleased. I was a bit taken aback by the size and weight at first as I'm used to smaller watches. The weight surprised me, being a quartz, but it's a solid bit of kit. However after wearing it for a while I've got used to it and will definitely be a keeper. The black leather nato strap it came on is really nice although it is a little bit short for my wrist and the excess doesn't quit reach the second keeper. Very pleased though. I think it looks really good. Like the detail on the sub dials. I also like the pushers. Much easier to get a finger on than the usual little buttons. I think the PVD version suits it best although it loses the date feature. However as I mentioned before, the date box is so small that I would have had to put my glasses on to read it. I could always have stuck a cyclops on it but that would look a bit daft at the 5 o'clock position! The new stainless version sounds interesting but unless they reduce the case size I think it would make it look just a bit too big. Thanks for your help chaps!

I managed to push the second keeper back a bit on mine as I suffered a similar issue. It does move but was just a little stiff.
Glad you're happy with it, they're certainly a solid piece.
Yes I pushed it down as far as it would go. Astronauts must have small wrists. Probably due to their bones being degraded by cosmic radiation Glad you're happy with it, they're certainly a solid piece.
