Rolex 116610LV
Discussion
Does anyone here own one?
I've been offered the chance to buy one for what looks like less than I can find anywhere else and I've been lusting after one ever since I got laughed out of a local Authorised Dealer as I'd finally plucked up the courage to pop in and tell them I'd seen it on their website for less than £7k and see they can spread it over 12 months...
Nowhere local has one and I'd like to see how it looks on the wrist and get others feedback.
I'm no watch guru, I wear a Planet Ocean 600 Master Chrono daily which I'd have to sell, so any feedback and wrist pictures would be great!
If I am to go ahead, I'm told it'll be fine to meet at a Rolex AD 200 miles away to have it looked at first.

I think it might feel 'a bit dainty' on your wrist in comparison to your Planet Ocean. 3.5mm might not sound like much but can make a huge difference to the way a watch feels & looks on your wrist.
Also, going totally against the grain & taking the monetary & future value out of the equation, I'm not sure I'd want want to lose the PO for the Rolex. But, I'm sure that's just me and if it's something you've lusted after, then do it!
Can you keep the Omega for a little while after buying the Rolex to give you time to make up your mind up?

Agree with what you say. I've had sellers remorse in the past over watches I've sold through being forced to sell. I probably would buy the Rolex before selling the Omega but couldn't justify keeping them both for long. I guess it would quickly make up my mind either way and unless I was as smitten with the Rolex as I have been lustful then it'd quickly be moved on and I don't think I'd lose anything.
You've got me thinking about the size now as I've never tried one on and I think the Omega is a great size.

I really do love my one, its gets worn most every day now both work and weekends. V. comfortable with the glide lock bracelet and the colour is fantastic; certainly seems to get a lot a positive comments at work from watch fans and from people who just like nice shiny pretty things (I’m a jeweller by trade - higher end bespoke stuff). I’d say if it checks out and it’s priced as they were a couple years back then grab it with both hands!
Had mine for couple months now and loving it - it’s my go to weekend wear at the moment. I find it difficult to take a good pic showing off the dial with my rudimentary camera skills (and phone camera) but here’s a couple of pics:

If you really want one then go for it - nothing else will scratch the itch.

It's usually my brother than accidentally blows me up when we meet up... "is that another watch?"
Wife: "It better not be"
In my defence, apart from my current Omega and the Panerai I sold a while ago, they're all cheapies I liked the look of.
I might go with this and tell her it's a replica.

Am I missing something or can you not actually go into a jewellers and buy one? I can only assume that is why used ones are at a 20% markup
Oh you can, if you buy a shed load of other stuff from said jewelers over a long period and then wait a couple of years. I realize that there are exceptions to this scenario.
Not sure where the current pricing is with these - but certainly quite a distinctive and subtly attractive model.
However, my personal choice, for investment, would probably be the Anniversary model, which I think looks even classier, with the black dial and green bezel. But, long out of production, so assume prices are even higher?
