What Watch? £1-2k Budget
Discussion
Longines make some nice watches.
I have had a blue Hydroconquest (not a Chrono) for 7 years now and, although I have a number of more expensive watches, I still wear it rate it amongst my favourites.
For your budget, I don't think you can go far wrong with Longines.
Maybe look at some TAG Heuers, too, as they have a wide range of designs, although they might have crept up out of your price range.

What about something in the Oris range , perhaps a sixty five which is certainly the watch of the moment

I'm biased as I own one but the ML Aikon is an awesome choice for £1500

My default recommendation in this price bracket is Farer:

I'd have a Lander Chronograph, and Oxley GMT and a Hecla Aqua Compressor. Sadly at the present time I have precisely none of them, although I do have two of their quartz models - an Ainsdale and a Frobisher II.

Any Longines experts on here?
I’m looking at the HydroConquest Chronograph, however I’m slightly confused, it’s listed on the Longines website for £1,770.00, model L3.783.4.56.6.
I’ve found a L3.883.4.56.6 on pre-order which is available 30/07/19, is this the same watch, just an updated version?
I’m going to pop into town at the weekend and try the current model on but it looks like it’s 41mm whereas the new one is 43mm. If I like it I’ll wait until the end of July and apply the 10% discount.
The difference in size will be the different number. Same general watch just bigger case. I’m looking at the HydroConquest Chronograph, however I’m slightly confused, it’s listed on the Longines website for £1,770.00, model L3.783.4.56.6.

I recently got my first 'proper' watch and got the new Longines Hydroconquest.
It's the non chrono one with the plain dial and it's great. I had mine for a little under £1k with a discount and it's fantastic value for money. I've got the rubber strap and the bracelet which means it can be a bit more casual if needs be.

Wow. Love those. Thanks. My choice would be an Omega Seamaster 2254.50. My personal favourite Seamaster design, with an automatic movement, on a fantastic looking bracelet. They were discontinued around 2011, and go for around £1700 on eBay and watch-specific sites.

For new watches, Oris do a lot of very nice divers. I'm partial to the Aquis GMT in particular, which on a bracelet is just over 2k, but is under on other strap options.
For simpler, clean, classic looking options, the Grand Seiko range starts at the top of your budget, and they are really excellent watches.

Some nice watches here! Can't go wrong with a S/H Omega tbh.
I love the Oris Aquis but they don't really allow other straps.
If it doesn't need to be a chrono (didn't see it in the specs), this has a similar bezel hands and colour scheme:

500m WR, Ceramic bezel, domed sapphire crystal, SuperLumiNova and Swiss movement for $700.
