Basically I've got 2 Seamaster Professional 300s, the old sword hand (2254.50), and a newer pre-ceramic Bond (212.30.41.20.01.002) both automatic in Black. I meant to sell the latter to upgrade to something pricier in the range but then bought the former instead and here I am with both. As I prefer the versatility of the former in terms of looks e.g. on a NATO and I have been advise it's likely to rise in value while the other will drop I'm going to keep it.

Now I'm trying to work out whether I actually need a dress watch or whether I can be bothered to switch back to the stainless strap for smarter occasions. I do have my granddad's gold Tudor but that would only be for very special occasions. Is it worth cashing out on the 212.30.41.20.01.002 in case I need the cash later and the price is dropping?

I was contemplating an older Aqua Terra but probably don't need it, or a real vintage Geneve, DeVille etc. for under a grand so I will be up cash despite replacing the SMP. My concern really is having to sell any in future as you take a massive hit on eBay or any sites you sell on these days.

I would have the newer Bond on its bracelet and the older 2254.50 on a distressed leather strap for a vintage vibe look.

Eh? Sounds pretty perfect to me.

An older Seamaster on a vintage leather strap is IMO the best look for it. Goes perfectly with jeans etc. and looks great:

The newer Seamaster on the bracelet is dressy enough for anything, bar white tie and tails.

I've put my Brosnan era Bond Seamaster on an OEM knock-off rubber strap with deployant clasp as the bracelet was looking a bit tired and it looks great both with a suit and casual. It's the one with the stitching effect on the edge and I may pony up for the OEM version I like it so much.

The 2254 is my daily and I love it, smart enough for any formal occasion whilst casual enough for everyday wear.
Also love the look on your 2254 with the leather strap, I can see ....KO on the inside of it, is it a SEIKO strap, or something else?

No idea I‘m afraid, it’s from a Google image search.

This is mine:

If it's smart enough for Bond I suppose

I have a newish Speedy 57 on a Snoopy strap. It looks rustic yet smart at the same time.

Watches side by side only for photo purposes :-)

I'd guess "Watchgecko"?

Email a link to this thread/post to them at support@watchgecko.com and they'll tell you.

Let us know too?

And? I see nothing wrong with this, you'll have associated memories or experiences with each watch and if you've got them on different straps then I think it works cool
