Crystal replacement on cheap watch
Discussion
I’ve a Citizen BN0100-51E, only cost £150 new, but I’ve managed to scratch up the crystal a bit... could live with it but wanted to know what my options were for replacing it. Would love a sapphire crystal but would settle for standard.
Obviously not worth spending a fortune on it given I could go and buy a brand new watch for £150 so what are my options - who could replace the crystal and how much?
Thanks!

Replacement crystals can be had for £40 ish from the likes of Cousins (parts only). Fitting can be had work and needs specialist tools. Any good watchmaker can do it, provided they can source a crystal of the correct size.
Replacing a plastic crystal with a sapphire isn't (to the best of my knowledge) an option.
Have you tried polishing with polywatch (or toothpaste)? You'll be amazed at what can be achieved.

Depending on size example 2mm thick 36mm dia mineral crystal is £1.10 +vat and delivery from CousinsUK, a press can be had for around £10 from eBay, might need a gasket, watch a load of YouTube vids and away you go
Or ask at your local Timpsons for a price, they will pressure test it too.
