I've been browsing a free watches, and I really like this Seiko...

https://www.watchshop.com/mens-seiko-kinetic-watch...

I understand it's kinetic is not that "cool" but I think it looks excellent.

I have a couple of questions...

It isn't on Seiko's own site, does this mean it's no longer made?

It's that shop an okay place to buy from?

Any similar styles anyone wants to throw into the mix for consideration?

First and foremost its gonna be on your wrist, so if you think its cool get it.

Watchshop is reputable

Kinetics go for years, I wore 1 for 9 years straight without a problem.

I'll check out the rest and answer shortly.

I have used them, they are a legit grey dealer.

Creation seem to be well regarded for Seiko, but it seems some people are having issues recently with customs etc.

Do you specifically want kinetic? What's the budget?

What's a grey dealer? How do customs come into it?

No I don't specifically want kinetic. The budget is probably under £300. I've never worn a watch so I don't want to spend a fortune and not get on with it!

I quite like the watch you've posted but it seems a little pricey doesn't it?

It's worth checking the sub-200 watches thread, plus the Seiko one too if you like them, as they're really useful. Be careful though, it's addictive and I've had 3 watches delivered over the last 2 weeks!

The site is fine. I've ordered twice from there and they regularly do sales / discount codes, so worth keeping an eye out for that.

Other watches I'd be looking at with the same looks / feel would be the Seiko alpinist and the Hamilton khaki manual wind. They're a little over budget, but can be had for less than £400. The alpinist is discontinued now so finding one brand new could be tricky. The presage range from Seiko are also very stunning pieces.

I don't know if it does seem pricey? Watches and the reasons for their prices are beyond me!

A grey dealer is not an authorised dealer, so the warranty will be with the dealer.

Creation are Singapore based I believe, so although they are generally cheaper for Seiko, you may be hit with customs charges.

Check out the Tissot Visodate and Seiko Presage range as well.

I have a few Presage and they are lovely.

I have bought a few Seiko from shoppinginjapan.net and can definitely recommend the site.

They sell a lot of versions you cant get outside of Japan/Asia
