They are also the top Brand , or is that/was Apple? Which is pretty amazing considering they only make watches.

Yet another price increase, fair enough the secondary market is strong but these few years increases seem to be every year now!

+1 it’s a ridiculous situation with them at the moment.

I think I paid about £3,500 for my first explorer II, about fifteen years ago, they do seem to have increased an awful lot since then.

In March 2004 £1 bought approximately CHF 2.4 today it buys CHF 1.27. An Explorer II costs CHF 7,700, which at 2004 exchange rates would be less what you paid for it.

Yes you can, if you expect to walk in and pick it up maybe not, but if you pop in and have a chat / email / chase it up then you can get them.

My first ever purchase was a 2018 Black Daytona, supposedly waiting lists closed / 5 years, blah blah blah, I had never bought anything else from that shop until then, I waited around 8/9 months.

Just picked up a BLNR (last month), that took two / two and a half years.

Most of the ‘wait’ list are people wanting to ‘flip’ straight away, by keeping paperwork it weeds the majority of these people out and you’ll end up with a watch much done than you think, waiting for my white face Daytona now smile

Doesn’t make sense
So increase the price, beyond inflation, to stop the great unwashed buying them?
If that’s the case, fools are easily parted from their money..

All part of the show of wealth brigade Rolex seems to attract.
Biggest premium watch brand in Switzerland yet somehow 'exclusive'. Great marketing.
