Old pocket watch in need of some TLC

This is my first watch post so please be gentle and excuse the bad photos, although my phone made a valiant attempt in poor light!

I have come into possession of a family heirloom pocket watch that belonged to my great grandfather (my grandmother would desperately like to see it in good condition again) which is in need of some TLC.

At the very least I would like the case to close - various dents cause it to spring open immediately even if it can be persuaded to shut - and the second hand to be reattached. Actually getting it to operate again would be amazing!

Some research suggests the watch was assayed in 1927 (if someone could confirm/deny this I'd appreciate it!) and is obviously silver.

Any advice/recommendations for who/where to take it would be happily received. I'm based in the west midlands if that colours your suggestions but I'm happy to travel anywhere reasonable, say 3-4hrs, drive to get it seen to. I'm not trusting any postal/courier service with it as I'm suspecting most of the value is sentimental, again please correct me if I am wrong.
