Seeing a Breitling Panda tribute in the wrist check thread inspired me to dig out this old Wakmann. I never wear it because the brown leather strap is stiff and uncomfortable and doesn't really suit it.

I was thinking shark mesh, or coloured rubber dive strap maybe? Maybe a NATO but I am not overly keen on the thick doubling up those straps do on the side. Any suggestions welcomed I don't know what I want at all and don't know any good places to buy from either.

Very cool watch man.

Beads of rice style maybe?

Or maybe even an isofrane might look cool? ( try the obris morgan ones for a trail as they are ok and really good value)

Maybe a grey padded (stingray?) leather with orange stitching? Try Etsy.

If ever this needs a new home, please let me know biggrin

Beads of rice style? Will have to google that!

Hadn’t considered colour coded stitching either. Could work...

Thanks!

Nice work! I like that material not sure on colour. Where would I get a sailcloth strap? Is the Watch Gecko site that seems to come up for every search a good one?

I'd probably go for navy blue leather with navy blue stitching. Keep it simple.

Could be good but would have to see the strap in the flesh I couldn't handle a clash of blues.

One thing, without wishing to sound like a preaching arse, there are loads of exotic leathers on Etsy, most are fairly ethical as they are by-products of meat production. Please dont buy snake leathers as the way they are produced is truly horrific and the meat is not eaten, just thrown away.

I'm unlikely to buy leather, but I couldn't agree more. Worth drawing attention to.

I have this similar style watch that I also don't wear. It's on the 'proper' Omega strap but I feel it could use something more utilitarian. So now I have to find straps for both, or which can work interchangeably.

Thanks for the suggestions it's exactly what I was looking for!
