Rolex service - west country
Discussion
I’ve got an old Rolex* which I’ve stared wearing again after many years in my sock drawer, and thought it might be worth getting it serviced. Fairly alarmed at cost at main Rolex agents.
Anyone able to recommend an independent in the West Country who could do the work?

Watchworks is owned by my stepfather Rocco.
As a Rolex accredited watchmaker, pricing will be the same as Rolex UK, but he’s competing work in 3 weeks currently! You’ll also have more scope with an older model as to refinishing/parts replacement requirements.
The recent price of a Rolex service is crazy.
It was bad enough when it was £400 (Exp 2) in 2016 and I've recently been quoted £600 for an Airking 14010m for my wife's. I've no idea how much her watch is worth, maybe £2k and a bit so the service cost at £600 is just ridiculous. All in my opinion of course.
Edited to add that I've always insisted they don't polish it.

Is this directly with Rolex or through a dealer who may be charging a mark up? Also, was it a standard service or were there other add-ons?
We recently had "Rolex Complete Service" on 2 watches and the earlier one was £500 (sent in March pre lockdown picked up June) and the other (a sports model) £550 in July.

It was via Shoosmiths and the quote was for a standard service. Not sure how much cheaper it would be going to them direct but worth a go, so thanks for that bit of info. Also, was it a standard service or were there other add-ons?
