Hi all,

Thinking of purchasing a nice example of an Explorer 2 however RM Special Delivery only covers value up to £2500. As the watch is up in Manchester it isn't an option for collection. Does anyone know of any postal/courier service that will cover up to 5k ish?

Cheers

I used DHL about a year or so back to send a Sea Dweller 43 to an address in the UK.

Worked, was fully insured, but cost about £150.

For £5k I'd want to see it first? (and I'd deffo go and fetch it).

If you live in the mainland UK it's tricky to be more than 7 hours from Manchester? Or fly?

Driving in your own car is no risk.
We drive to France via tunnel - 660 miles and interacted with no one except border control (and then passed passports through window, wound window up and no issues.
Perfectly safe.

Thanks for the replies. Think I might look for an example a bit closer that I can go and view first!

Consequential loss doesn't cover the value of a lost watch. It's very clear about what it covers - the impact of additional loss of documents for instance.

In any case if you send an item valued at more than £2500 & it's lost then it's not covered at all. It isn't as if it's still covered for £2500.
