Good morning, I have bought this for £395 on a bit of an impulse yesterday.

It doesn’t seem to be working although it is making a noise so don’t believe battery related. The jewellers are getting it back to fix so no issues there.

Question is, in the cold light of day is this a good price, and should I keep it or get my money back?

I would get a refund. From memory that will be very difficult to repair.

I've had work done on a Bulova hummer by the chap who runs this website before. What he doesn't know about tuning fork watches isn't worth knowing.

Just been reading through the site and couldn’t find anything similar to the issue I have, but going from the advice plus the fact that to be fair the £395 is probably better spent on a house I think I will get a refund.

I would say that it is a good price if that is the original box. If theyre going to let a battery changer mess about with it then Id want my money back, but if they will send it to a proper specialist then Id keep hold of it.

No idea to be honest if its the original box, it is an Omega one but the watch came without papers and the strap isn’t an Omega strap.

Their plan is to change the battery and see if it works, I cant see this working as the watch is making a humming noise now but no hand movement.

It was from a high street chain jewellers and came with a 12 month warranty so I will see what they say but if battery change doesn’t fix it I may ask for my money back, which they will probably gladly do rather than try and fix it!

People speak highly of the guy. But my experience is that when he's not on holiday (which is rare) he doesn't answer emails, not at all, not ever.

Bit of an inevitable update.

Went to the jewellers and they replaced the battery, it now works and I’m comfortable that this was the issue as the hum is a lot more noticeable now.

So despite me having far better things to spend my money on it is currently sat on my wrist with me considering asking a family friend who owns a gold plating company as to whether he would be able to re-gold plate it.
