I sold him a watch a couple of months back and some jewellery.

Simple , easy, efficient and very strong trade bids.

Just to support this thread, having known Dom and dealt watches with him since 2012, no need to go anywhere else. His jewellery knowledge isn’t bad either!

I always maintain that traders/companies etc can never have a 100% satisfaction history, and that’s to be expected - but this guy appears to have slipped through the net and is proving me wrong!

I’ve had a few emails back and forth with Dom for a couple of pieces, but thanks to life getting in the way never managed to make a purchase - but he never got cheesed off with my questions and I will definitely deal with him when the time comes

Sold my Datejust to him a few weeks ago. Met at the station to hand it over, had a coffee and good chat - lovely chap and very honest/straightforward to deal with.

I would certainly recommend him.

Very clever bit of advertising going on here?

Yeah I have to agree.

Six individual accounts, with a combined account history of 66 years, and over 7800 posts. Definitely suspicious rolleyes

Recommendations are fine.
We did have somebody a while ago who reported every thread about Mr Hackett (they also didn't like it because they weren't allowed to flog their own watches on the forums)

Fair enough,as i said i have nothing againts Dom,so its not a personal thing. But can you not say put an alert on the watch forum to notify if any of us has listed a watch for sale,as i dint think a lot of member even know about watches for sale in the classified section?? And before anyone say’s it No that wasnt me that was complaining!! Lol

That’s a website feedback thing. And the answer, of course, will be ‘we can add it to the list’ or No in common parlance.

No you can't sell( put up "an alert"" via the forums)
A while ago I seem to remember somebody who dealt in scrap metal was trying to flog a blue faced watch on here.
Posts were deleted & then he & his "wife" weren't happy

It’s a shame, I’m sure there’s a number of us who’d look to buy at trade prices with little hassle. I’d suggested on another thread about a sticky for ‘I’ve just put my watch on PH classifieds’ it’d be great if this was a thing... especially seeing a datejust going to him!

Without wishing to sound rude...may I suggest you retract this ? ...I for one have no “ connection “ with Dominic Hackett other than a very pleasant selling experience.
Do you have a problem with that ?

It's not advertising. Dom appears to have an infectious enthusiasm about watches.
I've dealt with him and was impressed. If others have the same experience, I think it's natural that they'd recommend him.

He should come with a wealth warning though, I think Dom could talk anyone into buying anything.

The pre-owned watch market is highly risky territory, so to have someone recommended on a watch thread can only be good news.

I have bought a Rolex from Dom and had a few other exchanges with him over the years. 100% reliable chap and would highly recommend.

There are people on this forum that are very used to buying and selling high-value watches.

Then there are people like me, whose most expensive watch prior to 2015 was a £150 Skagen. After some "help" from PH'ers, I was persuaded that there was no point forking out £500 - £1000 on a Submariner homage if t was actually a Submariner that I wanted.

I was pointed in the direction of Dom Hackett and very shortly afterwards, I sent more than £4,000 by bank transfer to a bloke I'd never met, based PURELY on the feedback and endorsement I'd been given on these forums. A week later I had a no-date Sub on my wrist, which is where it has stayed, almost permanently since then (and due a service, I guess...)

We need to be allowed to post up endorsements of people and companies that are trustworthy and offer great prices / service.

I also believe that we should be allowed to post genuine negative experiences too, but PH's 'name & shame' rules get in the way

Top man, Dom!

In the murky world of 2nd hand Rolex (other brands are available) - he would be my first port of call (he has bought from me - IWC Spitfire Chrono)!
