Morning all
Does anyone have any recommendations for a good, knowledgable and more importantly approachable AD in the Leeds/ Manchester/ Liverpool areas? Always like to work off recommendations as would like to discuss a few potential purchases with them. Thanks in advance.

I’ve found Andrew in Leeds Rolex boutique a very decent bloke to deal with. Bought a couple off him and a mate has had 4/5 from him.

Thanks- is that the one in Prestons in Leeds city centre?
If you don’t mind me asking- was it the ‘more challenging’ items to get, or window display stuff?

I’m only asking because I’ve got 2 of the kids turning 18 in a few years and would like to get them something special to celebrate and keep , but hate the grey market!! (Like the majority of watch appreciators and collectors I guess!)

I’ve recently called into David M Robinson in Altrincham to register my interest in a new watch. It remains to be seen if the watch materialises but the guy I dealt with was great. We talked about watches I own/have owned, what I was looking for etc & I got the impression he would give me a call if they got the watch in stock.

Yes, Prestons. I’ve had a BLNR and Hulk off him, my pal, a Sub, BLNR, Pepsi & Daytona, think he had some other ‘normal’ stuff as well mind. To be fair this, for me at least was a year or two back, before the current climate of nonsense.

Never used them myself however this place has a top notch rep. The MD, Heywood Milton, is a well known and trusted contributor on the TZ forum.

When do you need the watches for? chances are if your going to buy more than 1 at once the AD will listen.

Thanks for all the responses so far, hugely helpful. I’m pretty much needing the watches for 12-18 months time, I was very lucky and given a Coke GMT for my 18th birthday which I cherish, and would never part with. So I’d like to do the same for my kids. I’ve been lucky and got myself other “ in- demand” watches , but have had to resort to the grey market and would like to be a “normal” customer this time!!!

Pick what models you would like and go into AD and tell them what you want and when you want them, as said if you get 2-3 at a time they might listen better.

Surely if they’re SS sports models it’s only going to get your card marked as a “flipper”? Especially if you’re a new customer at that AD...

Not really - i did the exact same and got 2x GMTs for my two sons (now 4 and 6 years old) ...so quite a few years before I hand them over...but both watches were engraved by Rolex with their names on it and their birth dates

They did sell me BLNR soon after with no fuss at all (Bond Street in London)

Depends what you tell them though, if he actually tells them what they are for and also maybe get them engraved.

Good idea re the engraving. I’m actually after a white gold Daytona for myself also- wonder if this would help build a relationship?

Walk in and say I'd like a Daytona for myself and 2x other models for my kids.. pretty sure a lot of AD's will sort you out.
