Thinking about it ..... awaiting a linky from a WoS brand e-mail,

Just realised it's not a limited edition ....

What are the thoughts on values ... going up or down??

Rarely wear my mk1 Snoopy so whilst thinking about it, May pass,

Just worked out if I live to 80 it'd be like paying £26 per month for ownership scratchchin

I've had a very similar thought process to both of you, but decided that:

Its massively gimmicky.
But I bloomin love it!

Values, no idea, but it can't tank too far. The 321 Ed Whites have done well though so who knows. Deposit is in with WoS for an 'early 2021' delivery.

Will probably sell my FOIS when it shows up. Sort of regret selling my DSOM so I might change my mind (again!).

I got the WOS email too.. Put it in the basket but slept on it.. probably too late now! Did you have to pay in full? Too many watches recently and I'm not sure how much I would wear it. It is very cool though.. I love the caseback as well (although I am a big Peanuts fan and into space geekery). Probably a decent investment also I would imagine FWIW.

They've removed it from their transactional website this morning. Yesterday you could buy it and pay in full, but I have no idea whether they have an allocated number. People don't seem to know what production will be so I doubt it.

I rang the person in the branch I always use and gave them 10%

I love it, but at £8250 it's not far off an original one... and I think i'd prefer to have one of those.

Thanks, you did well. Certainly a 10% deposit sounds better when there's not a concrete delivery date.

I’ve had my name down on the list with my OB since April. I’m 5th on a list of over 40. OB says I will get it in 2021 but can’t be any more specific than that at the minute.

Not required to put a deposit down with them (maybe because I’ve got history with them).

Think I will wait to see it in person but I imagine I will like it. The back is really cool and very different. Don’t think values will be anything like the 45th anniversary (as none LE) but shouldn’t tank either.

Quite like the watch, quite like the story, hated the Charlie Brown cartoon when I was a kid so it's not for me.

I'd love one of these! I'm a massive Snoopy and Peanuts fan, sadly I'm looking to move house and £8k is not something I can sneak past the OH, unless I sold my Speedy and SuperOcean, and even then.

At least it's no a limited edition (as I understand).

Heard a lot of stories about people getting on to Omega waiting lists for the first time for this one. Be interesting to see how they handle it, whether its first come first served, or, you know, the other way!

Its not LE but limited production, whatever that means. I can imagine the complexity may put a lid on it. There were figures of 1000 over 2 years for the US market being touted about earlier this week. That's a lot of watches, but probably still less supply than demand.

I really wanted one of the 'from the moon to mars' speedmasters, but the dial printing quality really lets them down. Let's hope there aren't any of those issues with this one.

£16.40 for me.
Can probably square that away!

I do like this way of getting perspective on stuff... you're depreciating the cost over your useful life not the asset's. What else can I apply that to?

Did Omega recently put their prices up?

FOIS is now over 4k.
Sapphire Speedmaster is 5k list.

It's probably a better way of calculating cost hehe... My Hublot & RJ is probably 50p~£1 per wear, My Blancpain & Original Snoopy maybe £20 ..... If I go for this I fear it could be close to £200~£400 pre wear .....
The want is strong but can I genuinely convince myself this is a sensible purchase.... Think I'm out

Although this thread isn't helping matters biggrin

Anyone want to go half's??

Oddly enough I just got a call from my local AD, asked me if I wanted one as he's placed an order this week with Omega.

Great news. Are you in the UK?

The thread on Hodinkee said Omega stopped taking orders as of last night. Assume this is USA only if UK jewelers are still cold calling to flog stock!

I think I must be in a minority here. I absolutely cannot stand any form of 'cartoon' or 'fun' watch...

Clearly I have no sense of humour rofl

I get the whole NASA thing but still think it's bloody awful.

Nice looking watch , but really struggle to understand why Omega cannot sort a better winder on their manual Watches, have the orig snoopy & the ultraman, cannot be bothered wearing them as winding everyday with the winder thats too small and too stiff, shoulders get in the way is just a pain, ...
sort it out Omega
