Was watching the latest Jonny Smith video and he was wearing a nice looking watch:

He's always had these bright rubber straps one, but I can't really identify the watch.
It looks like brass?

Yes, Aquadive - he actually wears one on each wrist in lots of Smith & Sniff episodes. The weirdo.

Yeah, I like a colorful strap but yellow on bronze just looks terrible.
I do like the look of the watch itself though.

Decent ETA movements, but maybe a bit pricey considering it's not the same Aquadive from the '60's and '70's, the brand name was acquired 10 years ago - I'm not sure they'd hold their value as much as something for the same money from a brand with genuine history.
There must be plenty of microbrand watches with similar styling, and good enough movements for a lot less.

and it's not 'faux gold', it's bronze.

I think they'd look pretty good on a more subdued strap.

I'd find it pretty much impossible to justify one over a Black Bay or a Pelagos at that price range though.

1. It's bronze.
2. The strap is indeed horrible.

I'd still want another strap than that though.

Agreed, Magrette for example would be a fraction of the price and pretty similar in styling.

Just watched the video (Citroen Ami review) - the strap matches his shoes. And the strap matches the watch as well as the shoes match the rest of his clothes

I think it looks fine on the black rubber strap though.

You can get a heck of a dive watch for £500-600.

I would much rather have a Seiko, for example.

And Seiko has been upgrading its diver lineup (e.g. the King versions of the Turtle and Samurai)

At Aquadive's price point, there are better things to buy. My money would be on a Damasko Dsub: a heck of a dive watch.
