Is it my imagination or have we all been far more active on this forum recently and seem to be purchasing more stuff? (might be just me) hehe

Guilty. I haven’t bought anything for a few years and since working from home I’ve bought 12. Granted most have been cheap as chips but definitely a blip in my normal yearly purchases. At the same time I’ve sold about 5 that have been sat there for years which is good for a hoarder like me. I’m currently looking at more some vintage chronos would be the perfect end to the week haha.

Guilty. I mean, some significant life events (wife's significant birthday and birth of second child) have driven a pair of watch purchases, but if I am being honest with myself, boredom has had a part in it as well.

For example, I am currently negotiating two more purchases, and there are no easily found excuses for them...

Also, there is some classic transference happening here. I have basically given up on the idea of a sports car toy due to a) now having two children, but more importantly b) living in London, where such cars are now not just pointless, but also likely to be legislated out of practical/non-bankruptcy inducing use.

So, in classic PH man-maths, idiot style, I have just started doing something else expensive instead. At least these won't cost as much to keep operating as cars, and may hold their value a bit better. See? Man-maths in operation, right there.

Oh well.

Buying yourself a watch because of your wife’s significant birthday is impressive!

Guilty as charged.

I have been operating a strict ‘4 in, 1 out’ policy, however.

It was for her!

The fact that it is a 38mm chronograph that looks great on my wrist is irrelevant.

I’ve certainly had a busy year, built and modded a whole bunch. Sold a fair few and bought a few, I’ve been through 10 or so this year. Really don’t know what’s coming next, I’m stopping for a while laugh

Absolutely, but on the other hand that money would have gone on holidays or leisure in normal circumstances, this way it's portable property.
