Hi all - I have been religiously looking for a 16570 chopping and changing my mind over black or polar, 3185 vs. 3186 etc etc. Nearly paid top dollar for a 3186 polar but it was top end of the market. I’ve also seen some bad condition watches from independent dealers.

Anyhow there are some what seem to be good condition examples at both of the above. They seem competitive with the market for box and papers. Watch master also has discount codes for Xmas etc...

What are peoples views of these companies at the moment (I’ve heard the prices are high - these don’t seem so). Don’t over polish? Services are good? They also now offer a 24 months warranty. Thanks

Bought an Omega 38mm Speedmaster from WF in November. Watch was a good price, a year old, and perfect. Arrived quickly.

No complaints.

Bought from watch finder in the past. Odd experience but in hindsight it worked out well.

I have bought and sold many watches through Watchfinder, never any problems at all. I wouldn’t however, sell to Watchfinder anymore. Since the Richemont takeover, their part ex values have slowly dropped, to the point where it’s embarrassing. I recently sold a watch, the part ex valuation I got from Watchfinder was less than half what I got from an independent (big shout out to Blowers in Hull). For outright sales they are as safe as houses, for part ex’s, I’d definitely go elsewhere.

Don’t ever sell anything to WF. You’ll get twice the value elsewhere. They have huge overheads. Wouldn’t buy fk all from them now either. Extortionate prices.
And what’s interesting, if you read their current one star reviews, lots of watches have not arrived at their destination and WF are holding back refunds. So they’re now offering personal collection from your address. Guess who’s going to pay for that service?

I bought a Pelagos from Watchmaster and it was described as ‘Very Good’, however I’d describe it as mint. Excellent service and I’d use them again

No - direct with the SELL YOUR WATCH part of their web sites

WF arranged to free pickup by DHL. Two days later the money was in my account.

Why , when trying to sell a watch to the like's of Blowers , do they all ask " how much do you expect for the watch " .Just tell me what you'll pay for it .
I don't sell product by asking " how much would you like to pay "

I want to sell my no date Submariner. Might check the watchfinder website.

Where is this magical mystery watch shop that pays 2X value of WF?

Unless you are referring to private sales, or commission sales like the old Chronext (used to have a shop on Piccadilly that got ram raided)

You may get a better price selling it on here?

That question annoys me too. It doesn't matter what I expect to recoup, it's all down to what the buyer is willing to offer.
