I've been mulling the purchase of an Aquis for a few years now. With my 40th next week I'm thinking it's as good excuse as any to take the plunge.

Prices seem of of crept up a bit since I was last looking. Though there are some good deals on the titaniums which weren't available before.

While checking out what was available I came across this one witht he orage accents which has bee reduced down from £1600 to £750 (£1600 being the cheapest I've seen it anywhere else).

Somewhat torn between going for the titatium or compromising and buying the cheaper one Goldsmiths have on offer.

I'd normally just go for what I want but the offer seems almost too good to be true and it's far from half the watch.

Never spent more than £100 on a watch before so totally new to the game.

Are these kind of discount common?

Is it worth waiting for a different style of Aquis or is it so cheap because it's 45MM as opposed to 43mm?

One difference between those 2 is the size, not just material and price, which you have picked up on. These types of discount on an Oris is definitely not normal in today's watch market. Also, the orange one at £750 is out of stock.

it maybe only 1.5mm according to specs but thats the difference between a big watch and a huge watch!

What sizes have you been wearing upto date will dictate which one (if either) you go for due to size.

I love Oris and have had my TT3 since 2004 which I bought at 43.5mm. Haven't worn it much in the last 2 years due to the size of it. I went through a phase of larger watches between 2004-2016 and find that although I still have some, I don't wear the ones I haven't sold off. Since then, I've found that my sweet spot is 40-42mm.
