I find many watches that I really like, yet frequently there is a detail that spoils it for me, not just something that I personally do not like, but often something that seems to be at odds with the rest of the watch, which is the reason I like it in the first place.
For example, a lovely clean classical face with exquisite markers and perfectly painted/printed Arabic numbers, then just ruined by some icon at 12, instead of continuing with a number 12.
Power reserve, particularly on an otherwise clean face (Grand Seiko are notable offenders here).
A date window, the edge of which cuts into a numeral. Ditto sub dials that intrude into and overlay numerals.
Nuts or/with screw slots that are recessed flush so can't be turned anyway. I don't mind things that are for appearance sake, but these make no sense.
Just a few of mine.
What's your pet peeve that puts you off something that would otherwise be perfect?

I find Chronographs too "busy" for my tastes, I do own a Seiko PADI diver Chronograph but I bought that as I had a Seiko Diver stolen from a hotel room over a decade previously and I always missed it so I bought my current one as a replacement, it doesn't get a great deal of wear though.
I agree with Tudor BB fake rivets, I would have bought one by now if it wasn't for those, probably still will but it keeps putting me off so it may be a Nato or leather strap purchase.

Exactly the same here. Glad I am not the only one! For example, a lovely clean classical face with exquisite markers and perfectly painted/printed Arabic numbers, then just ruined by some icon at 12, instead of continuing with a number 12.

Watch crowns that look like they belong on a 19th century pocket watch
