Looking to purchase an explorer 16570 (black dial) still seem good value and a lot more subtle than the sub. Any experience on how to they hold up with regular wear?

Thanks for the informative response 🙄. Clearly I’m asking as I’ve not regularly worn a SS Rolex and won’t to know from someone who has if they hold up we’ll to regular use or will it scuff up easily and stat to show wear after 6 months.

I would say it’s the least robust of any SS Rolex, the brushed bezel is a scratch and dink magnet imho.

After 6 months you will have a collection of marks which makes it your rolex and not someone else’s.

Nonsense it’s go no rotating bezel mechanism to damage for starters.

Yes the bezel is brushed and does mark but not particularly badly, mine certainly hasn't. The watch has a quite a low profile doesn't come into contact with stuff like my Sea Dweller can ... bracelet is all brushed so will pick up the odd mark like another other watch, nothing like that of a polished finish or titanium though.

You should be more concerned about damage to the glass, because it stands a little proud of the bezel compared to the sub and gmt
The rest is straightforward SS Rolex, scratches and all

And as one of my watch dealers once said, you should never polish a SS Rolex

I think they are a great watch and until recently flew under the radar for several years price wise. I think I paid £1,800 for this 1993 edition in 2014. Still got it and can't say the bezel is susceptible to scratches more than the norm. The black can come out of the impressed digits but that can easily be sorted.

Ditto one of the reasons I flipped mine
