Watches With Bezels

I do like the styling of watches with bezels, and had many over the decades. However, aside from the quick twiddle with it every now and then, have never actually used a bezel for it's intended purpose.
Does anyone?
Depends on the bezel. I dont use the ones with a log scale, but i sometimes others for timing stuff when cookingDoes anyone?

I used to use the logarithmic scale on my Navitimer when flying for speed/distance/time calculations and doing 1 in 60s for regaining track again when doing VFR navigation also currency conversions but it was easier to use a larger scale on a crp5 or jeppesen CR3 type device but that’s all been replaced now with GPS and iPhones or iPad apps. Does anyone?
Anyone else use these things back in the day?
I also use the GMT bezel on my GMT when abroad.
Yes it’s easier to use your phone or whatever but tbh I like trying to use these things as they were designed sometimes.

I had a maths teacher who could use a circular slide rule faster than a 6th former could get the answer with a calculatorAnyone else use these things back in the day?

I used a CRaP5 for my ATPL exams and then, well.... didn't ever use it afterwards.
I do set my watch bezel lining up on the runway to mark elapsed sortie time as most of the trips I do are just over an hour or so and it's easier to have a quick glance at my watch particularly as the cockpit clock is buried in the displays and not easy to see.

I use both a CRP5 and the circular slide-rule on my 1968Navitimer for flight planning and inflight replanning whenever I undertake a land-away in my 1952 de Havilland (Canada) Chipmunk. A quarter-mil map and a stopwatch are the perfect antidote to the day job, driving Airbuses.Anyone else use these things back in the day?

My late dad had a really old metal one (I think it’s an E6B from the 70s it’s got a hoop on the side like this and lives in a leather type pouch,

I might get that out at work and do some old school calculations with it to impress the 20 year old F/Os (Obviously after I’ve already worked out the answer using my calculator)
