As examples of the watchmaker art, how would you rank the various brands and in what order?

I didn't comment at the time, but I would place AL&S above JLC and I'd place Rolex in group two. All highly subjective though, and far easier to nit-pick than generate your own list.

Ah yes, I remember that thread. It might have persuaded me subconciously to buy a JLC.

10 years on, would you make any changes to your list?

Thanks for finding that thread! Any ranking in this area necessarily involves some subjectivity but you argue your choices very well. Thought-provoking and instructive.
