Tudor Black Bay Chrono - Any Owners
Discussion
I have the BB chrono but it is in a different league (lower) than Daydate. In addition, depending what size the DD was, the BB Chrono is a big watch with the thickness to match.
I don't think it comes anywhere close to being 'special' if you comparing to the DD.
Here's a couple shots of mine, which now I wear on a Rubber.

Cheers - is it much bigger than a Daytona ? I’m just passed spending £££ on watches but I’m struggling on what to get around £5k I don't think it comes anywhere close to being 'special' if you comparing to the DD.

It wears (feels) noticeably bigger than a SS Daytona. From personal experience, the SS Daytona wears small, not surprising really as it is not a 40mm as stated. More of a 38mm but the pushers make it feel bigger. The ceramic bezel does make the black version look bigger though. But the BB chrono is no Daytona either. It was touted by many as the budget Daytona but to me it's more like an omega.

Cheers / great collection. I think it’ll suit me, I’ve never had lots of watches just one or two nice ones and wearing them all the time. Edited by Ninjin on Monday 13th December 08:42
I think the Black Bay will fit in as a nice daily, I did consider a Tag carerra but not at the price’s asked.
Chopards a left field call as in zenith / omega - never considered them.
I borrowed a black faced one for a few days. Very nice but didn’t feel special, although I feel that sums up Tudors (that not necessarily a bad thing and I really like mine).
How do you feel about Breitlings? They were never my thing but I took a punt on a Chronomat 44 on leather and it’s outstanding! I bought it because it was relatively cheap and thought I’d wear it a little and then flip it but I honestly think it’s a keeper - it’s stunning.
It’s one of Breitling’s higher end models so the build quality and feel of it is right up there with Omega and Rolex and a good few notches above the Tudor. Second hand they’re about £3.5k.

The Tudor chronos are hard to get hold of, at least on a bracelet, waiting lists galore.
Have you checked out the Breitling Premier B01, its a dual dial chrono and they are superb

If you are not set on having a metal bracelet then the Zenith is excellent value. Discount easily available (except on the newer releases) and should slip into your £5k budget.I think the Black Bay will fit in as a nice daily, I did consider a Tag carerra but not at the price’s asked.

Consider the Omega too, a SMP300 or even the SM300 if you prefer something more retro. I love the ceramic dial on the SMP300. If you are set on a metal bracelet, then the SMP300 is meant to wear very well (but I put rubber on mine... )
