Hi
Thinking of buying one as a birthday gift for someone who is actually an avid diver. He's a technical diver so actually dives with a number of computers but thought that an analogue back up would be nice....or at least the watch would reflect his favourite hobby.

Anyway, just wondering if people might be able to post wrist shots of theirs?

Needs to be ones that are currently for sale as I'll be buying brand new as its a gift.

Thanks

Here you go. This is something I wear occasionally , it is a prospex save the ocean king samurai manta ray. I am a triathlete so whippet skinny and this is by far my biggest watch. Lovely watch though ( excuse date being out by a day !)

Thank you.
That was one of my concerns ie it being too big but it looks absolutely fine on your wrist.
I'm trying to get my head around the different versions, the king samurai is distinguished purely by the shape of the hour hand?

The samurai vs turtle vs tuna is the shape of the watch itself . Mine is a samurai so the silver case of the watch is sharp angular lines. The turtle and tuna are more rounded.

I'm not a diver but many of my close friends are (I'm too scared to rely on equipment to breathe!). They don't wear any of these style of diving watches actually when diving, all using like your friend, the specific digital diving gear.

As to the Seiko Prospex, the prices range hugely, maybe helpful if you can indicate how much you want to spend?

Anyway, here's my offering that I purchased at 50% off, making it £575. A Seiko Shogun, a step up from the Samurais and Tunas due to being Titanium case and the 6r35 movement.

With factory rubber strap (diver style)

With Crafter BLue rubber strap

King Samurai has the ceramic bezel which the normal one doesn't. Also the dial is meant to be better. Never handled one in person but thats what I've seen people reporting on the interweb.

I think so?

It's the cheap (relatively) one.

Other than it thinking it's a fridge magnet, I love it.

A Monster for comparison. Wrist is 7”. They do a PADI one too with blue bezel and red minute hand.

I don’t want to piss on your chips, and these are lovely watches. But unless you have a clear idea of what they like, I’m not sure spending £3-500 on a watch for someone else is a good idea.
