Hi all,

Not a big collector but fancy adding to my 15yo tag aquaracer and 2019 purchased blue superocean on a blue rubber strap.

Looked at a Tudor Blackbay in bronze at the weekend which really took my fancy again, especially on a nato strap. Whilst I am happy to pay up to that those in the know here seem to find some great alternatives for less cash as well that I should consider spending less of my bonus on before the rest goes into the garden…

Any pointers to look for also (apart from Patina I know). Pic of said BB albeit on leather so you see where I am looking…thanks in advance!

I bought a Steinhart bronze, in order to see if I liked bronze before buying a Tudor. I decided that I do like bronze, but the aluminium bezel insert means there's not a lot of bronze to be seen. So I've just bought a Christopher Ward C60 bronze, which has a relief bezel (which I also like) in bronze which, over time, should look more characterful than the Steinhart/Tudor.

There's a bronze Stowa doing the rounds in the Wrist Check thread at the moment which seems very popular...

Yema Superman Bronze - love the case on mine, I went for the smaller case size and it wears very nicely. I put it on an Artem sailcloth strap.

Liking the G60 out of those 3 although my breitling has a blue face so this could be a little close but looks great on the brown leather strap. Stowa looks nice as well but not chunky enough for my taste. Great start Doofus!

Very nice; a bit vintage for me if you know what I mean but it did lead me to the Yema superman bronze GMT. Silly question, what is the window for by the 6 on the bezel, is it just replacing an arrow as I have on other watches? (Sorry you can tell I am a bit of a philistine here!).

I bought one of the Tide straps, because brown leather straps are available everywhere. smile

This is stunning and gives a different look to the blue dial; looks to be limited edition only and I suspect I missed said boat!

I fancy a bronze watch too, not found one yet that really works for me.

This is an easy one.

Glycine Combat Sub bronze, GL 0266.

It’ll wear much more nicely than that Tudor too. They’re only just over 10mm thick.

I really like the Glycine and Yema. I've also been looking for a bronze watch, but keep getting sidetracked.

Probably doesn't fit the bill quite, but I like the look of a Magrette Moana:

Or the Christopher Ward C65 bronze, maybe?

Yes it’s a remake of their 1950s (or 60s?) superman so have the vintage vibes - although no faux patina, you can make your own. I did want a GMT but it wasn’t released when I bought this.

Do you mean 3 on the face - The bezel lock system? Back in the days bezels would move both directions and more easily shift when diving (dangerous) so Yema invented a way to lock your bezel….so it’s a throw back

I really liked this in the promo shots.

But in real life I was quite disappointed with real life photos the blue doesn't look a bit like it does in the promos.

That's a shame! This is at least partly why I've not bought one yet - advert vs reality.

Someone has one on here... still looks a lovely watch but the blue just wasn't for me.

Here it is... hopefully Seafarr doesn't mind me quoting him.

I'm a big fan of the Oris/Fratello collaboration and wish I picked one up when they were for sale...

Makes perfect sense and I learnt something new for today!

Wow what a difference! One reason which still like to see a watch in person first.

Some lovely watches on here but already having a blue dial in my superocean I really want something different. Guess I will keep looking and come back (probably having listened to all the great advice and the. bought a Tudor in April anyway! getmecoat)
