Hi all, could the PH knowledge help identify the below, please. It was given to my girlfriend last year by a family friend of hers. I know it’s not worth much but it would be nice to understand a little more about it. It appears to be keeping time after I’ve wound it.

Thanks

Looks 1950's.
You are correct on value. Old ladies watches aren't worth much, that one is literally worth it's weight in gold.

Opening the back you should find the movement stamped with a calibre number and a serial number. Armed with the serial number, ten minutes & Google you should be able to determine the year of manufacture.

There's not much more to tell.

I believe they’re called cocktail watches.

My wife inherited one very similar to your photo. It was practically unreadable and not to her taste or style.

We took it to a jeweller who said, as above, it’s only worth scrap so we sent it to a company that recycle watches for charity.

Yep, thanks all. I couldn’t get the back off as I was scared to force/damage it. Anyway, I looked online and couldn’t find an exactly model ref but fully understand it’s only worth its weight in scrap gold value (much to the disappointment of my gf laugh).
