Discussion
Doing so renovations to my bathroom but that’s an entirely different story.
On removal of the floorboards to lay new I happened upon a rather crusty looking pocket watch.
I’m struggling to decode the hallmarks of any of you gents could help it would be much appreciated.
I must say it’s a lovely thing weighty and even in it’s unseen for years under the floor boards state a beautiful thing

It’s a very fascinating beautiful thing.
It get me to wondering how it ended up their. I believe the house was built in the 1940’s so possibly sat hidden away for a fair few years. It certainly looked like it had.
Thank you for any help or thoughts on it.

Chester, 1900, silver
Thomas Peter Hewitt, which will take you to The Lancashire Watch Company.
Here's a slightly later one (number 492999, though still hallmarked 1900) with a bit more blurb and a couple of nicer images .. https://www.sellingantiques.co.uk/316939/large-sil...
