I've just gone to wind my speedy pro and it made a funny noise like it wasn't keeping tension and I noticed there was no definite stop. It's still working but I think the mainspring is goosed from reading about these symptoms.

Does anyone have any recommendations for repair? Back to omega or a independent specialist?

Bloody gutted but it is overdue a service as well.

Back to Omega with that one. I've just had a Planet Ocean serviced/repaired by Omega and it was a quick turnaround.

Had a Speedy Pro on the bench this week. No real need to go to Omega unless you value the service papers. You’ll pay a premium for them though. (Broken mainspring in the one pictured too!).

Nice watches smile

Have you ever put a watch together and had some bits left over?

Oh yea, all the time. I think they come with spare parts from the factory so I just pop them in loose, tighten the case back and on to the next one!

(I don’t really!)

After a few repairs, you have enough spares to make a new watch!
