Bulova Lunar Pilot - opinions please

As per thread title. Really like the look of it, and like a slightly left field choice. Anyone got one / seen one in the flesh? Are they up to snuff for the price?

Thinking of getting the 400 quid one on nylon strap and switching out strap later. Or is the bracelet worth the premium?

My issue is that I can't find any local stockists - for example my nearest HS is miles away. May need to order, try, return if dissatisfied, although not normally happy doing that. But if it wears big, that might rule it out anyway.

It's a birthday present for myself... alternative choice is an auto Longines Conquest, which is my preference though obv more pricey. However, having bought the missus the ladies' version for Xmas I'm finding it hard to resist...

I had one a few years back when they were first released. I’d echo the above comment about it wearing big on the wrist. I’ve a 7.5” wrist and it was just about ok, maybe a touch too big.

Still, they are stunning pieces and for the money, I think they are a great buy. I regret selling mine to be honest.

Rabs, I don’t want to sound like a broken record here but the BLP is absolutely 100% a watch you have to try on before you buy it. If you don’t have a stockist near you then maybe wait until you’re near somewhere that does.

Yep, it was the Moonswatch nonsense that got me looking at the Lunar.

Point taken, and advice appreciated. Hopefully the finish won't wear off on my wrist and/or the crystal show scratches within 24 hours...

I recently sold mine. I had the limited edition black version. Echoing others, I loved the way it looked & the interesting quartz movement, but found it a bit of a pain to wear. It does have some heft to it & after the honeymoon period I would always reach for another watch.

I had one and liked it but it was way too big lug to lug for me and I sold it

yep , my opinion is its too big , like have a dinner plate on your wrist , 52mm lug-to-lug is too much, 50mm is the limit for me

The other thing that bothered me was the 20mm strap width. It just looked really skinny on a 45mm case. Would have been a lot better at 22mm

Bought mine after asking for advice on this forum. It gets worn a lot and I am very happy with it!

The strap is, I agree, a fraction to narrow for the watch size but overall it’s a nice looking watch and I think good value.

Tried one on today. Glad I did, it's a lovely watch but too bulky for my puny wrist. Other options will be pursued...

As above, same size wrist too! Fantastic accuracy, I also regret selling mine.
