I wasn’t expecting this but I have been looking for a Tudor Chrono panda for a while now and after realising I was not going to see one in the window, go in, try it and buy it I registered interest with a local dealer back in February, (‘ish). I was told it would be around 18 months which was dis-appointing but not unexpected.
I figured I should keep in touch with them regularly as it was such a long time until I was going to be near the top of the list so went in a little over a month ago and thought it was a good time to pop back in as I was passing.
Spoke to the person I was dealing with and clearly nothing doing but mentioned I had not tried the Chrono on as no one has them. He said he may have a S&G but I didn’t think that would be very representative. I said “Thank you but probably not. A black face would help if they get one in at some point though.” He said he would go downstairs and see if there was anything, (I bet they know exactly what they have). He came back with a black face one and I was able to try it on.
It was very nice and my wife liked it too. I said I actually rather liked it and if it had been available I would take it but still wanted to be on the list for the white face. At this point he said that it was being held for someone but it had been on hold for a while and he would make a call. 5 odd minutes later he came back and said it was mine!
Super stoked and still wanting to see the white face but really liking it albeit only 4 hours later! Maybe I was lucky, maybe I played he game - keeping in touch, keen to buy there and then as well as still wanting another watch. Who knows but am going to make sure I pop in regularly from now on too.

Going back maybe 2 months ago there was a black face for sale in the window of my local Goldsmiths. I considered buying it but I am also on the wait list for a white face.
I wish I'd have bought it now as I think the black face is starting to appeal more than the white face.
