Rolex lead times
Discussion
I think as things stand you can at the very least expect a long wait time especially for a Sub, expect to have to try a few A.D's before you get one that will take you seriously without trying to talk you into buying other jewellery as an incentive etc but demand does seem to be loosening up a little now.

Hi all I’m debating a new watch and wondered if anyone knows what kind of wait time there is for a Rolex currently?
Either a yacht master 2 or a submariner not decided yet.
Thanks all.
4 month wait for a 41mm Datejust Wimbledon. Name down in Feb, collected in June this year. One watch purchase history.Either a yacht master 2 or a submariner not decided yet.
Thanks all.
There was a guy putting his name down for a Yacht Master when I was collecting and they were saying they couldn't advise on timescales but expect a year or two.
Hope that help...
This is a strange one I think, my boss has a reasonable Rolex collection (I think its at about 15 pieces now, all bought via one dealer) and put his name down for a YM in February. He got a call in March that they had one if he wanted it (he took it) - they also offered him first dibs on a bi-colour SeaDweller at the same time which he took too.
Shame as they're "investment watches" to hand down to his son in the future and went straight into a safe and won't be worn at all by him.

Update from today. I went into my local authorised distributor to be told they weren’t able to even take a ‘registered interest’ for any of the professional range, come back next year. I called another AD and was told the same!
So went to a local ‘boutique’ dealer who specialises in second hand stuff and bought a 2019 (immaculate) steel YM2 for a grand over RRP.
Shame Rolex have this supply issue. The guy said it’s because people have money to burn with no holidays or going out for over 2 years (and not buying new clothes because of these things) so he has loads of 20 year old lads with >£10k in their bank saved up and want to blow it on something flash.
They can’t make them fast enough and it’s not getting any better.
Watch is amazing anyways!

I’d make a thread like this, and 3 months later still toiling with a decision. You on the other hand have gone from creating the thread to watch on your wrist in less than 24hrs So went to a local ‘boutique’ dealer who specialises in second hand stuff and bought a 2019 (immaculate) steel YM2 for a grand over RRP.

Congrats on the pickup, and the decisive action!
Thanks. I am a bit of an impulse person!
The guy said these watches are like marmite. The traditional
Rolex owners frown upon them but if you like em you love em.
Having come from an omega I think they’re a really nice upgrade.
What’s everyone else think? Be honest I have broad shoulders!

A few years ago I went into NG in Newcastle and asked if they had a Rhodium dial YM I could have a look at , they didn’t but the SA took my details and said he’d ring me back , about a month later he rang me up , went in tried it on and bought it .Shame as they're "investment watches" to hand down to his son in the future and went straight into a safe and won't be worn at all by him.
I haven’t got a SeaDweller so I’m not your boss….
