At the pauper end of the scale!

Any advice? Ones to avoid?

I have seen a Storm Watch SM2 that is in the price bracket, but have never heard of Storm.

Is there any actual benefit in syncing your watch with your phone?

All I think I am after is time telling, heart rate and step count.

I dont really want a Fitbit

Cheers

The Amazfit T-Rex Pro occasionally pops up for less than £100. Mine was full price at £119 and I still think it's a bargain at that price.

I have one, but am probably about to upgrade to the T-Rex 2.

Storm are a half decent budget watch brand.

Sekonda keep popping up on my IG feed with a £79 basic smart watch - heart rate, steps, time and notifications.

I would go for the Sekonda. £80 for all the functions you need really and it looks like a £1200 Tag Heuer Connected.

I have one of these as well after my Garmin Vivoactive got broken when I was refereeing by a clumsy prop forward

Does all I need it to do and decent battery life

I was about to make an almost identical post, including the Tag comment! I have one, it does what you want, accurately, at a great price, and looks good (imho).

Bit of a lag in replying

Thank you for the offer but I would prefer to buy new.

Thanks to the other replies to. The Sekonda looks like it fits the bill.
