Tissot F1 repair
Discussion
So i have a Tissot F1 which was my grandads which he bought new in 1979/1980 (cant remember off top of my head) still have the box and all the receipts.
It had stopped working and changed the battery to no avail.
I have sent it to Tissot but they have said that the parts are unavailable and cant fix it.
Would anyone know of anyone/where that could have a look at this ?

The response is a little samey, I realise, but if I was in this situation then I would send it to Joe at Anglesey Watch & Clock.
Regarding Joe at Anglesey, I emailed about a repair on my Stowa but got no response, this was weeks ago.I live a fair distance away so can't take the watch in person, is it normal practice just to send the watch to him with contact details?

I wouldn’t. I live a fair distance away so can't take the watch in person, is it normal practice just to send the watch to him with contact details?
Basically every comment after someone recommends him is they didn’t get a response.
Ignore the wally above. Joe's work email gets spammed into oblivion and he does not have time to run an email account and repair watches. Do not email him is usually part of the advice (although I have stopped as most people are too dumb to heed it).
I would not expect you to send the watch without speaking to him first. I would suggest that you message him through his FB page (Anglesey Watches & Clocks). He also has a shop telephone number which will be answered on the days that the shop is open (now fewer in order to concentrate on repairs).

It happens on almost every thread.
There are plenty of other good people out there.
edit: here's a thread from 2 1/2 years a go with people complaining about lack of response, this is not the only thread like this - https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
I get he is a member here and I am sure he does good work, but he is not responsive... even when he has your watch.
I used Duncan 'thewatchbloke' and he was responsive, sent me a ton of pictures of the steps of the work, and was reasonably priced. I've recommended him on here and I know I am not the only one to have got good service from him.
