I bought my wife a 1965 Rolex Date for our wedding anniversary. Its a nice watch, but has a couple of issues. Firstly, it needs a service, it also seems to have the wrong crown, the watch strap is stretched and the Sigma dial is water damaged.

Can anyone recommend me some where or someone who can repair this? I am happy to use shops, or highly recommended individuals. I know that the the strap is now not available, but happy to use a decent used one, and even change the dial to something a bit more modern.

Any help much appreciated.

Is getting it serviced by Rolex themselves an option?

I’ve just given my Datejust which I bought back in the early 80’s to an authorised local dealer for a full refurbishment.

I don’t expect it to be cheap but didn’t want to send it through the post to the many independent repairers who advertise.
