I bought a MVMT watch for a casual daily. It has a cheap and nasty leather strap with a buckle but I don't really fancy it. I have a Seiko with a leather strap which is much nicer, and it also has (imo) a very nice clasp.

I was thinking of changing the strap but I have no idea of what's good. Not sure whether to keep it leather or opt for some other material/style? What I certainly don't want is a buckle or bulky clasp.

MVMT is a fashion brand, quite minimalist/Bauhaus inspired designs, pleasant enough I suppose and fairly cheap.

Yes, it’s one of life’s perverse pleasures to put a really nice, high quality leather strap on a cheap watch, you’ll need to measure the lug width but assuming your watch doesn’t have any daft lugs you’re good to go.

Lots of watch straps actually come with a cheap reusable tool to ping open the spring bars. It’s a doddle.

As above, Amazon is a good place to start once you know the size of the strap.

Fine mesh (Milanese) bracelets look good and can be found in various colours, low profile clasps too.

Look out for quick release ones which can be fitted without tools so if you have a few they can be swapped about. A new strap can make a big difference, sometimes making it feel like a whole new watch…
