Evening

A friend of mine has inherited a 70’s 1550 Oyster Date and the date wheel doesn’t advance when running or with the crown. Other than that the watch runs fine. Sound like an easy fix? If so any recommendations for a watch repairer in the South East rather than sending it to Rolex

Cheers

I've had good experience with Christian at 'Watchguy'. Was about 4 years ago but good job and excellent comms

The Watch Doctors team in Tring get my vote .. I’ve always had superb service from them on Rolex and others.

I would without hesitation send it to Alex at Perpetual Time (www.perpetual-time.com). Appreciate not local but easy to post watch with insurance nowadays.
Alex Photi is highly recommended. Look him up on web and You Tube.

Another vote for Watchguy used him for my dads Datejust.

Best bit is you get a load of photos back of the watch in pieces.
